Positive Reflection

This fellowship journey is really a roller coaster ride for me. So how does this journey begin??

I was just sitting at a canteen in my university having a free meal treat, suddenly I was approached by a friend of mine who was an Amal fellow. He gave some useful information about this fellowship and recommended I apply for this program. Since I am a little introverted person, I was really unsure about whether I will be able to compete in this fellowship because the activities that he mentioned to me were really pushing me out of my comfort zone.

Finally, I applied for this fellowship program on the very last date, but at that time I was not feeling excited to be a part of this program because deep down I have some fear in my heart that I am not ready for this. Right before the Interview of the application process, I received a beautiful quote from a friend who was aware of my frightening situation.

“Great things never came from comfort zones”

I was so pumped up and motivated that I decided that I will give my best in the application process and will also try to give my 100% in the fellowship If I get selected. Now when I think about it, I can totally say that it’s one of the best decisions in my life. And it’s totally worth it.

As the journey began, it was a little shaky start for me as I was scared to death to speak in the first few weeks of the live session because I had a feeling that I might say something wrong and then someone will laugh at me, it’s human psychology.

But in the third week, I managed to win the Project work Award 3

When the winner was announced in the PW video, I was totally shocked to see my name as I was really not expecting it. But then I received some congratulatory messages during the live session, I felt really good about it and it also helped me to gain some confidence to speak in the session.

The best part of this award was that it really motivated me to put more effort into the PW and the online courses because I loved that appreciation. After that, I decided to put my 100% dedication to the fellowship just because of the praise that I received from the fellows.

Before this award, I really didn’t have an appreciative attitude towards everyone I know but when I feel that how this magic works. I decided to make a habit of praising everyone despite the success or failure, just because of the efforts that they put into the task.

If I look back at this whole journey of the fellowship, I just shortlisted one impact but I really loved those breakout rooms activity and the Mock Interview session. I was really hesitant to step out of my comfort zone but now I have decided to say “YES” to the all-new and interesting opportunities that may come in the future. Just because of the fellowship I have realized one thing in my life:

“Life is really like a roller coaster. You can either scream every time there is a bump or you can throw your hands up or enjoy the ride”.

Thank you Amal Academy for existing!!
