“Education is not a privilege; It’s every child Birth right”
Education is the road to national development of a country but sadly here in our country, Majority of the poor children are deprived of their basic education right. On my way to University, At Traffic signals I always see some small children selling books, balloons etc. But why are these children working at a very small age as they should be learning in a school.
I asked some poor kids about their financial condition and also questioned them why they are working at a very young age as they are supposed to learn and play at this stage of their life. And After having a little conversation with them I got to know about their condition.
The major reason is poverty. According to the survey conducted by Business recorder, About 40% of the people in Pakistan are living below the poverty line. Since these kids are from very poor backgrounds, Their Parents are not able to afford the tuition fees of private schools and we all know the situation of Government schools in Pakistan. Also due to the bad financial condition of these people, these children start working at a very small age in order to support their family.
Due to their financial condition we can see the graph that how many kids are not able to attend the school ever in their whole life:
The Steps that should be taken by the government is that they should provide basic facilities to the students but that’s the work of government organizations. We first should think about what’s our responsibility in this issue as a student.
In this Amal Mega Project, I have decided that we should work for these children by setting up a street school. The reason for educating these children is that I have seen a vision in their eyes regarding their Future.
The steps that we can take in this mega project to help these children that we can collect funds for this social cause as since we all are students so it’s quite difficult to help in this cause financially but we can put our efforts in this social cause intellectually. By these funds we can give these children some books and provide them with good shelter for their school.
A way better way to support our cause is that we can also Volunteer with an Organization Named Tadrees:
It’s an organization started by the students of NED back in 2016. It focuses on providing learning opportunities to the underprivileged students. Since this organization has already access to the resources for teaching these kinds of students so we could use these resources and give our best in order to turn our cause into a very productive one.
