After going through a lengthy application process for the Amal fellowship program. When I received the congratulatory email that I have been selected for this Journey. I was super excited at that time and Can’t wait for this fellowship to start.

“Meri Selection Hogye”

But I got to know the fellowship started a little earlier than it was supposed to be. During the first week of the session Due to some family commitments, I have to travel to northern areas.

Whenever I look at this picture, I can still remember the time when I was trying super hard to connect to the online zoom meeting in this weather condition but could not succeed. I felt gloomy because I really wanted to be a part of the first session.

When I came back home, I was introduced to Learning Group 9. It was such an amazing group with amazing people.

First Learning group meeting

It may seem from the picture, that we were super low on energy but that was not the case. We were supposed to analyze a LUMS case study but each of us had some confusion. That’s where I realized the importance of teamwork. We all decided to put in our efforts and ultimately solved the case study smoothly.

Also in the second week of the fellowship, We were given a task to record a video and upload it onto the Facebook group page. Since I have saved the video on my desktop, Whenever I just look at the thumbnail of the video I feel a little motivated. You might be wondering what is the connection between motivation and the video?

It took me almost 35–40 tries to make this video and I was too scared to post it in the group as these kinds of activities were actually new to me and whenever I feel a little overwhelmed and afraid in some academic activities, I tell to myself that if you can do this activity since I was so scared that you can’t imagine, You can handle any type of academic activity.

The first two weeks really helped me to step out of my comfort zone and Now I look back at those days, I feel that I was scared for nothing. I am really shocked to see how after 11 weeks of fellowship, I evolved into a person who can communicate with anyone easily as I really wanted to develop some confidence in myself to talk to new people. Now I can proudly say that I have become a better version of myself.
